The college was established on July 4th, 1945 as W.G.B.College and later renamed as D.N.R.College in the year 1964 in appreciation of the memorable services rendered by the Founder Secretary & Correspondent Late Sri DANTULURI NARAYANA RAJU. This College is renowned as a pioneering institute of higher learning and enjoyed a place of pride under the illustrious leadership of the stalwarts since inception.
Raising the curtain for Postgraduate courses in the College during the year 1971-72 was epoch making and the credit goes to late Sri G. Jagannadha Raju, President and Sn G.S.Ramabhadra Raju, Secretary & Correspondent who strived for vertical growth of the facilities offered in the field of higher education. As a result of the dedicated efforts of the Management, grant-in-aid status is given to four Postgraduate departments viz., M.A.(Social Work), M.A.(Economics), M.A.(Telugu) and M.Com., w.e.f. July 1978 under the persuasive leadership of Sri G.Ranga Raju, President and Sri G.S.Rambhadra Raju, Secretary & Correspondent. They initiated a series of structural and functional changes for progressive development of the P.G.Courses by conferring a separate administrative status so as to make this a distinctive centre of higher education.
THE SAGA OF LEADERSHIP
Various Institutions run under the D.N.R. College Association won laurels under the imaginative leadership of Late Sri G.Jagannadha Raju as President, while the matured leadership provided by Late Sri G.Ranga Raju with the unstinted cooperation extended by Sri G.S.Ramabhadra Raju, Secretary & Correspondent enabled horizonal expansion of the academic facilities offered through this institution. Later, cherishing the noblest ideals, the successive incumbents Sri M.Rama Raju and Sri D.Bapi Raju rendered remarkable services.
This College Association has taken new strides of growth under the leadership of Late Sri Bh.Vijaya Kumar Raju, Member of Parliament and President & Correspondent by starting MB.A. and M.C.A. programmes with the permission accorded by AICTE and the affiliating Andhra University. Subsequently Sri G.Murali Ranga Raju, President Correspondent duly assisted by Sri G.S.Ramabhadra Raju, Secretary strived to preserve the richest ideals by making this a model centre of higher learning. Under the young and dynamic leadership of Sri Ch. Sriranganadha Raju as President, Sri G.V.Narasimha Raju as Secretary & Correspondent, emphasis was is laid on offering new courses.
Presently, under the dynamic leadership of Sri G.V.Narasimha Raju, President and Sri V.Suryanarayana Raju, Secretary & Correspondent, the P.G.Courses is embarking on consolidation and progressive growth by throwing open of new vistas by starting new courses. Introduction of M.Sc. (Electronics) as well as M.Sc. (Mathematics) with effect from the academic year. 2003-2004, M.Sc. Organic Chemistry and M.Sc. Physics from 2005-2006, in addition to the M.Sc course in Analytical Chemistry and Bio-Technology from 2006-07, clearly reflects the progressive mind of the management for alround development keeping in view their desire to widen the scope and strength of higher learning through this Institution cherishing the Dream of Deemed University.
