D.N.R. College was the forerunner of Higher education in the state of Andhra Pradesh and was established on July 4th, 1945 initially as W.G.B. Collge and later christened as D.N.R. College in the year 1964 in appreciation of the memorable services rendered by the Founder Secretary & Correspondent late Sri DANTULURI NARAYANA RAJU. This College is renowned as a pioneer institute of higher learning enjoying a place of pride under the illustrious leadership of the stalwarts since inception.
Initiation of Postgraduate courses in the College during the year 1971-72 was epoch making and the credit goes to late Sri. G. Jagannadha Raju, President and Sri G.S. Rambabhadra Raju, Secretary & Corres-pondent who strived for vertical growth of facilities offered in the field of higher education. As a result of the dedicated efforts of the Management, grant-in-aid status was given to four Postgraduate departments viz., M.A. (Social Work), M.A. (Economics), M.A. (Telugu) and M.Com., w.e.f. July 1978 under the persuasive leadership of Sri G. Ranga Raju, President and Sri G.S. Rambhadra Raju, Secretary & Correspondent. They initiated a series of changes for progressive development of the P.G. Courses by conferring a separate administrative status so as to make this a distinctive centre of higher education. more »
